Adilocks recommends to have at least 3 inches of hair in order to "start" your dreadz... remember, if you are starting your locks this short, you will have to have a lot of care on those locks to keep them together, easy to do with ski hats, t-shirt sleeves, head wraps, etc.

~WhenI don't ant my dreadz anymore, do I have to shave my head..?
Well.. Dreadz can be cut off or comb out..!! Knotty Boy has developed "deadlock removal kit", so you can save as much hair as you want.
The majoroty of people will cutt off their locks and comb out the top
2 to 3 inches of hair.

~Is it Painful..?
Everyone has a different tolerance to pain and there are some spots on your head/scalp that are more sensitive thant others.
Soooo... is it painful..?    yes and no.

~Washing your hair before getting your locks..!!
Adilocks will appreciate that very much..!!
No conditioners, no products..!!
Try to use clarifying shampoo or dish detergent.
Your hair must be dry at the time of your dready appoiment.

~Should I find a professional to start my locks..?
That is up to you... If you have a friend/s thad could have the patient to dread your hair, make sure to start your locks with clean and dry hair.
If you choose a professional, ask questions, ask for pictures and price compare.

Do you already have dreadz..?

~My ends are not dreading..  why..?
Often, the last inch of hair doesn't dread until after 1 year, all we need to keep doing is to backcomb the loose hair at the end of the dread, then,  use the crochet needle to tight it... and roll them as much as you can.

~I have a funny smell on my locks..  why..?
It could be mildew caused when mousture is trapped in the hair. Make sure your dreadz are completely dry before tying them up or going to bed at nite. On the other hand it could be an excess of sebum in the scalp. Everyone has a unique scent. Shampoo or other naturally scented productssuch as rosemary, lemon or mint can help. Be caerful not to go overboard with products trying to mask the smell.. It could be worse.

~I have little bumps on my scalp... what are they..?
They are tension bumps, this happens when dreadz are too tight.

~How often should I wash my dreadz..?
This is entirely up to you...
Adilocks recomeds to wash/wet your locks no more than once a week.
Some people go up to 2 to 3 weeks without washing their locks.
Just keep an eye on your scalp..

~How often should I get maintenance on my locks..?
You will decide that.. Some people get maintenance every 2 - 4 months and other don't come back for years.

~Can I do my own maintenance at home..?
