Dreadlock Care
After getting your dreadlocks done, it is now time to help them lock.
Give them at leas 2 weeks without washing them to give them some time to dry out. After that wash them gently massaging your scalp, squeezing and rinsing them with HOT water several times if you need to, to get rid of left over wax and all shampoo/soap residue.
If you have an active lifestyle and sweat a lot or just have the need to wash your locks before the 2 weeks, you can just rinse them off with hot water and dry them well, after that, keep palm rolling them as much as you can with the left over wax, don't add more wax until you wash your locks with soap.
Drying your dreads is very important, if you swim or wash them often (more than once a week), they will start smelling funky and musty if you don't dry them properly in the sun, blowdryer (medium to low heat), etc.
Mold can actually grow if you leave them damp.
After dry them very well, you will notice fuzz around your head every time you wash your locks.
Maintenance with a crochet needle is a very easy way to manage your dreadz.
Grab the fuzz around each dread and weave it into the dread, after you're done you can always apply a little bit of was or tightening gel to groom your locks.
**There is no right or wrong about dreadz, so remember to use common sense to keep your dreadz clean**
